High Street VS High End

Monday, 13 January 2014

Welcome to a brand new monthly series call High Street VS High End! There are so many duplicates of high end products by high street brands I thought it would be a good idea to compare both too see if I can save both you and myself money when it comes to buying beauty products!

They're real by Benefit (£19.50) is a mascara loved by bbloggers in the blogsphere and I've managed to find a mascara almost Identical to it by collection called Does it all and its only £4.99!

As you can see in the photo's above the first thing noticeably similar about the two products are the wands. When 'They're Real'  first came out I remember the hype over the wand and how it really made this product unique. On each wands of both products there are long and slightly shorter bristles, helping you to catch each and every lash (even those peaky short ones.) On the top of each mascara wand there are a few shorter bristles which makes applying mascara to outer lashes a lot easier!

I decided to apply 3 layers of each mascara on my eyelashes to see the effect the mascara has, I felt with both mascara's one layer didn't seem to make  much difference to my natural lashes.

From the photos above you can see 'They're Real' on the right hand side, 'Does it all' on the left hand side and my natural lashes in the middle.
As you can see both mascaras do make my lashes look a lot longer, I also thought both the mascaras were easy to apply. I felt that 'they're real' left my lashes feeling quite heavy and also left them a tiny bit clumpy, I think this could be something to do with the formula as it seem quite thick on the wand. But overall I'm happy with the results the mascara left. Through out the day there was no movement from the mascara, unlike previous mascara's I have owned which have sometimes left me with panda eyes by the end of the day! I must mention though, the only really problem I've had with the mascara is that it's already started to dry up! I've only had for about 3 weeks now so I'm really not impressed at all with this.
I felt 'Does it all' also made my lashes a little clumpy but didn't seem as heavy on them, but I really liked the finish of the mascara. Again I found that throughout the day the mascara stayed put and there was no need to top it up. Removing the mascara didn't seem to be too much of a mission either as they both only needed one make wipe to be completely taken off my eyes.

As you can see from the photos they really isn't much in it and both mascara look as good as each other and I think for those of you who have been wanting to try 'They're real' for a while but just can't seem to pay the price of it, I'd definitely recommend trying 'Does it all' as it is a great duplicate and a bargain for only £4.99

I'd love to know if you've tried either of these products and what you thoughts are on them
