What's In My Make-Up Bag?

Saturday, 15 February 2014

I love reading What's in my.. type posts! I love being nosy, seeing what others like to keep in their make-up bags, handbags and the beauty related items that they use on a daily basis. As you can see from the photo above, this month I've not been carrying around much with me I've tried to stick with more of a natural look by using only a few different products

I've been using my Ted Baker large floral wash bag to carry around everything this month. I picked up this beauty in the sales last month and it's the perfect size to fit everything I need as well as fitting nicely into my handbag. I love the print on the bag it's so girly and different from any previous make ups bags I've owned.

the POREfessional
My current favourite primer is Benefit's the POREfessional, I've been using this product pretty much everyday since I got it in one of the benefit sets I brought in the sales. POREfessional is a lightweight and oil-free balm, which helps to minimise pores and keeps your make-up in place. Before putting on any make-up I apply a pea sized amount on the tip of my finger and dab across my T-Zone and cheeks, I then gently massage it into my skin leaving it feeling super smooth and soft. What I love about this product is that you can wear it by itself, under make-up and even over your make-up for final touch ups. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking to treat themselves to a new primer!  You can find the POREfessional here for £24.50.

Double Wear liquid foundation

For well over a year I've been searching for my perfect foundation, something that matched my skin tone well and stayed put for a long time. Although I'm yet to find it, I've found something that comes pretty close to it, Estee Lauder Double wear is a foundation I'm sure everyone has heard something about throughout the blogosphere. After hearing so many raving reviews I picked up my bottle just before Christmas, now there are a few things I love about this product and there are a few things I don't like about it...but I shall leave them all for their own post. For now I've been using the foundation on and off for the last month depending on the coverage i'm wanting on the day, I apply this foundation with my RT buffing brush working it in the skin to cover any blemishes or scars on my face. You can find Double wear here for £28.50.

Double Wear Powder Foundation

I brought this powder foundation along with a liquid version just before Christmas. I tend to use this powder more as a setting powder then a foundation by itself, I lightly press my RT powder brush in the powder before lightly pressing into my skin. On days I might want a lighter coverage, I tend to just use the powder foundation by itself and I apply it by buffing in to my face with the powder brush rather than just dabbing it on. It does give a fairly good coverage and does last a time longer when applied. You can find the powder here for £29.00.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

This concealer has to be one of my all time favourite. I find that it works perfectly as both an under eye concealer and to hide an blemishes. The concealer never feels heavy and always seems to blend well in to
my skin, I tend to wear this product daily under and on top of my foundation as well as by itself. I always pick the colour fair as it's a great shade for my very pale skin and never looks too dark. You'll always find this product in my make-up bag! You can find the concealer here for £4.19

Orgasm/Laguna NARS Double

I brought this last year in a blog sale and I've used it so much ever since. The two colours work so well together, I tend to use Laguna as a contour powder and Orgasm to add a bit of colour in to my cheeks. Orgasm is a peachy coral shade with a tad sparkle in it, I always find colours like this work so well with my pale skin tone as they just add an all most natural hint of colour. Laguna is one of my favourite bronzers, once applied it just leave a healthy looking glow on my skin. It's an easy colour to build up and works a treat when contouring.

Bourjois Volumizer Ultra Black Mascara
This mascara has to be one of my all time favourites. I love having big lashes and is this definitely perfect for doing that job. The mascara has two steps, step 1 is a lightly loaded brush to add some defined volume whilst step 2 is a fully loaded brush and it adds lots of volume with no clumps! In the day time I tend to just use step 1 but If I'm getting all dolled up or going somewhere nice I like to use both steps for the extra volume and bigger lashes. If you're looking for a mascara with some extra volume I'd definitely recommend giving this ago! You can find the mascara here for £10.99

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post! I'd love to know your thoughts on the products and what items you like to keep in your make-up bag!
