LUSH | Skincare

A couple of weeks back I was invited to my local LUSH store in Cambridge to try out some of their wonderful skin care products! Lush isn't a brand that comes straight into my head when I think of skin care. I tend to go straight to brands like Origins or Clarins so I was very interested to see what LUSH had to offer.

when I arrived, straight away I was greeted by one of the sale assistants named Bella, she was very welcoming and made and I felt at ease. We started off by talking about my current skincare routine and some of the different products I've used and those I  haven't got on as well as I would  have  liked . Bella then  brought me a selection of different products she thought would work well with my skin type.

Cleanser
First up Cleansers! Bella introduced 4 different cleanser she thought would work well with my skin, two of which I'll be sharing with you today, these were Aqua Marina, a cleanser which includes seaweed and calamine to absorb excess oils leaving you with a clear complexion. The cleanser itself smells gorgeous! I mix a small amount of the cleanser with water in the palm of my hand and then massage into the skin, then wipe of gently with a damp muslin cloth. This one always leaves my skin feeling nice and soft.
The next cleanser Bella suggested was Ultrabland. This cleanser is made with rose water, almond oil, bees wax and honey and is made to remove all traces of dirt and make up on the skin without striping away the natural oils. You apply a small amount on the skin, massaging and really working it in and then remove with a damp cotton pad. I like using this after my current cleanser to remove the last traces of dirt and make up from my skin.

Toner
Two different toners were suggested to me this were the Tea Tree Water  and Eau Roma Water. The tea tree water is full of different ingredients such as tea tree, grapefruit and juniperberry. They all work together to keep away bacteria which can cause spots, whilst keeping the skin clean and refreshed. The best way to use the toner water is to spray it on a cotton pad and sweep across the face. Eau Roma water is suitable for all  skin types. The rose water will help to calm and reduce and redness whilst the lavender in the water helps to soften and balance the skin leaving it feeling hydrated. Again the best way to use the toner is to spray it on a cotton pad and sweep across the face.

Moisturisers
Bella picked out two different moisturisers which she felt would work better with my skin type and these were Skin drink,  which is packed with a range of different oils and butters including avocados and aloe vera to help quench the skin's thirst without leaving it feeling greasy. The next moisturiser was Imperialis, it is a balancing face cream with a range of different herbs and flowers to help restore your skin, it's a great moisturiser for those days where your skin has no clue what it's doing.

Mask
Finally I was shown a selection of different facial masks. BB seaweed was the first and it is a calming face mask filled with fresh seaweed, ground almond, rose and aloe vera. The mask helps to remove any traces of dirty and the millet flakes help to gently exfoliate the dead skin when you remove it. The best way to apply is to load up with a generous layer, leave for 10-15 minutes to set and the remove with water. Oatfix  is a face mask which contains bananas, illipe butter, oatmeal, ground almonds and kaolin all of which work together to exfoliate and moisturise dry skin. The final face mask which was recommend is the Cosmetic warrior. It is a fresh face mask which contains tea tree and garlic to help cleanse the skin whilst protecting it at the same time, the mask also includes green grapes and honey which leaves the face nice, soft and moisturised. (I'm currently sitting here wearing this mask, I love it!)

And there you have it! I was amazed at the collection of skin care that LUSH provide and I've definitely found some new favourites to add to my collection. I'd love to know if you've tried any of the LUSH skin care products before? How did you get on with them?
