Sunday Cooking | Mars Krispy Treats

Sunday, 21 September 2014

Mars Krispy Treats are something I've been making for as long as I can remember. They're a sweet chocolatey no bake treat made with rice krispies, mars bars and chocolate, perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. They're so simple and easy to make so here is how...

You'll need
 - 3 Mars Bars (standard size)
- Rice Krispies (enough to cover)
- 114g of chocolate (equal to one standard bar of Galaxy chocolate)
- 2 Tablespoons of golden syrup
- 85g of butter

Step one - Place the glass bowl over a pan of simmering water to melt the mars bars, golden syrup and butter. Stir occasionally to make sure everything has fully melted and take bowl off the heat.

Step two - Add Rice krispies in to mix and stir in until all are coated, then place in greased pan to set. (I used a glass dish instead)

Step three - Melt chocolate in a glass bowl over simmering water and again stir occasionally until chocolate is fully melted and there are no lumps.

Step four - Drizzle melted chocolate over rice krispies, place in fridge to set.

Step five  - Once set cut into squares and enjoy!

And there you have it! Easy, tasty treats ready for you to enjoy!
